My friends and I brainstormed about what we could do to express our love and appreciation for you, so after days of planning, we’ve finally pulled it together. We have had a group chat going for an extremely long time and it has been beneficial for all of us (except when I am in Pre-Calc and my phone goes off in the middle of class because I decided to forget to turn “Do Not Disturb” mode on). We can rant about things bothering us, be unbearably annoying, talk about you, talk about what we had for dinner, talk about the weather, talk about what one country has that another country doesn’t, compare accents, send silly audio messages, and finally, be 100% ourselves without judgment. These people would basically not exist if you did not make the music you do. First and foremost, we would not be in each others’ lives; that’s just as good as not existing, if you think about it. Also, we would not be the people we are. Your music shaped us; we grew with your music. We cried to your music. We laughed to your music. We dance to your music. We sing to your music. We listen to your music in absolute silence whilst taking public transit because we are horrified of making eye contact with the people next to us. We blast your music as loud as we can in the car and look out the window and pretend to be in dramatic music videos. We all do the same things; we all connect somehow. We all fit together like puzzle pieces. We bring out the best in each other, and sometimes the worst. We fight with each other and support each other. We are a family, and you are the reason this family exists. We thank you from the bottom of our international hearts.
